Refunds & Cancellations Policy – Studio Hire
At Havance Dance Studio, we aim to provide a fair and transparent booking system for all hirers. This Refunds & Cancellations Policy is guided by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and applies to all studio hire bookings.
1. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
Under the ACL (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), you are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement if the service provided:

Fails to meet a Consumer Guarantee (e.g. the studio is unavailable or unsafe).

Is cancelled by us due to reasons within our control.
These rights cannot be excluded. However, the ACL does not require us to provide a refund if you change your mind, decide not to use the studio, or cancel outside of the terms below.
2. Cancellations by Hirers
If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, the following applies:

60+ days’ notice: Full refund (minus a small $20 admin fee).

30–59 days’ notice: 50% refund.

15–29 days’ notice: 25% refund.

Less than 14 days’ notice: No refund.
Reschedules may be allowed (subject to availability) within 90 days of the original booking. If 14+ days’ notice is given, rescheduling fees are waived.
3. Cancellations by Havance Dance Studio
We reserve the right to cancel a booking if:

The hirer breaches the Terms & Conditions of hire.

The activity is deemed unsafe, unlawful, or damaging to the studio.

The studio is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. essential repairs, emergency).
In such cases:

We will provide a full refund, or
-
Offer to reschedule your booking at no extra charge.
4. Force Majeure (Events Beyond Control)
If your booking is affected by circumstances beyond either party’s reasonable control (e.g. government restrictions, extreme weather, natural disasters), refunds or credits may be provided at our discretion.
5. No-Show Bookings
If the hirer fails to attend or use the studio at the booked time without notice, no refund or credit will be issued.
6. Refund Method
Approved refunds will be processed via the original payment method within 10 business days.
